A Glance into Advanced Placement European History

Daniel, Madison, Tyler, Lorena, Brooke, Eric, Erik, Alexis and Elizabeth
The first advanced course for  high school students to enroll in is Advanced Placement European History. Their guide for this first exploration of European History is Mrs. Janousky, our AP extraordinaire. She teaches freshman English, AP European History, AP United States History, AP Language, AP Government, and Economics. Mrs. Janousky has a special place in her heart for her AP European History students.

The course focuses on two periods: the period from 1450 to the French Revolutionary and Napoleonic era, and the period from the French Revolutionary and Napoleonic era to the present. Every night, a section of course information is assigned. The next day, students will be quizzed on the information. It is a quick paced course that must stay up to college standards. While the class started out with seventeen students, it has dropped down to nine brave students. They are so proud of the work they have accomplished as the end of the year is near. The students can be spotted around campus sporting their AP European History Survivor Shirts.

While this course is advanced, students also enjoy projects that put them in the past. AP European History experienced a blast from the past. After studying famous and infamous figureheads, they transformed into these historical figures. They visited the salon of Mrs. Janousky and dressed up and feasted on European cuisine.

There are so many exciting events going in this classroom it just had to be shared! Click below to get another peak into the life of our AP European History students.
